1. What we are thinking

Let’s talk about why we feel overwhelmed, anxious, unhappy or unmotivated in life. 

It happens when you look ahead and you demand answers. You look for signs that you’re on the right track. You look for signs that you should be hopeful that you’re doing the right things. 

But those are few and far between and when you don’t see them… voila… you feel lost. Frustrated. A failure. Anxious.

Stop demanding answers in life! Stop looking for hope and instead create it yourself. How? By asking yourself a very simple question instead of hurling it out to the universe hoping for a response back.

2. A tweet that hit home - we did this, together.

The children of this world were all waiting to see what this country would pick - division and hate or unity and love. We chose correctly. Love will always trump hate.

3. The time I almost died

As Isa turns 1 this week, we decided to post a video on my birth story. As triggering and traumatic it was, I felt obligated to share such a private moment in our life.

African-American, Native American and Alaska Native women die of pregnancy-related causes at a rate about three times higher than those of white women.

The racial disparity has persisted, even grown, for years despite frequent calls to improve access to medical care for women of color. Sixty percent of all pregnancy-related deaths can be prevented with better health care.
